Pro Stock

 

Body

 

            1. Any stock American made steel top car or station wagon. No convertibles, jeeps, hearses, limos, front wheel drives, el caminos, rancheros, or            trucks.

            2. Bodies must remain GM-GM, Ford-Ford, Mopar-Mopar. May reskin with a newer body. Such as FWD Grand Prix, Monte Carlo bodies on your             metric frames. In place of the original.

            3. All bodies must have original steel firewall and floor pans that match the frame in original location.

            4. All bodies must be bolted down using factory frame holes. May remove factory bushings. No welding of body to frame from cowl area to rear of             car.

            5. Radiator core support may be removed and replaced with 2X2 angle iron no thicker than 1/4" or 1 3/4" roll bar tubing. Must be inline with or            behind radiator and vertical. Top support can go from fender to fender. May connect to the front loop with no bigger than 1 3/4" tubing. One            3/4" pipe between frame rails directly infront of radiator allowed.

            6. Hood and trunk must be pinned not nuts and bolts, for fire safety. Trunks must open.

            7. May have have steel under drivers seat and leg area or from center hump to rocker panel welded or bolted to body or cage. Must retain stock          floor on passenger side of car.

            8. No welding of floor pan to frame.

            9. All holes in firewall and rear seat area must be covered with metal.

            10. Both doors must be welded, chained, or bolted shut. 

            11. Drivers door only can be reinforced from the outside. A steel plate no thicker than 1/8" may be welded from wheel to wheel, and from rocker                  panel up the side of the door 18 inches on drivers side door only. A single rub bar no bigger than 1X3" and stretching no longer than from               wheel to wheel may be installed, by bolting or welding to both sides of car.

            12. Driver and passenger compartment must remain open. No enclosed cockpits.

            13. No reinforcing of any kind on the inside of front fenders or passenger side door. No pipe or steel plate.

            14. May have single tube no bigger than 1 3/4" from quarter to quarter across rear of trunk opening and single bar of same size back to frame or             kicker. May have single 1 3/4" tube inside of quarter panel from rear bumper to rear of wheel well. With kickers back to frame.

            15. Single body steel. All body repairs must be done with thin sheet metal. No plating. Any patching of body must be no more than 1/16" thick and                  no more than 2 inches from damaged area.

            16. All glass, plastic, upholstery, lights, mirrors, molding, and chrome must be removed.

            17. Number plate on roof is mandatory. Numbers on roof plate must be at least 10" tall. Car numbers on both doors and on roof plate and easily                read. No spray painted numbers. Letters may appear behind number and must be at least 6" tall. No four digit numbers allowed.

            18. No adding of ballast or weight of any kind anywhere in the car. In frames, bumpers, body, etc.

            19. A 1/2" rod may be welded around fender openings.

 

Frame

 

            1. Repair of rails from rust or damage from center of rear axle forward must be of 1/4" flat steel or less, no angle, channel, or box iron.

            2. Center of rear axle to back bumper can be replaced with 2X3" box tubing no thicker than 1/4" in the stock location.

            3. Rear frame rails must be able to safely support bumper and protect fuel tank.

            4. Unibody cars can connect front and rear rails together with 2X3" box tubing.

            5. X-ing of frame allowed.

            6. All repairs must be approved by racing inspector.

 

Roll Cage

 

            1. Minimum of 4 point cage securely welded to frame.

            2. Rear kickers are allowed, but must stay in trunk area.

            3. Front loop allowed, maximum of 1 3/4" tubing. Loop no farther forward than front of frame.

            4. Must have at least 3 drivers side door bars.

            Safety is priority. Cages will be inspected, cages appearing unsafe will not race.

 

Fuel Tanks

 

            1. Must be in trunk area.

            2. Original tank must be removed.

            3. Fuel cells mandatroy.

            4. All fuel cells must be securely fastened down.

            5. Must have roll over valve in place.

 

Fuel

 

            1. No racing fuel, aviation fuel, or E-85. Pump gas only.

            2. Fuel line inside drivers compartment must be in steel tube.

           

Fuel Tank Protection

 

            1. May weld in a bar no wider than frame rails across back of trunk with 2 bars going down and 2 bars going ahead to frame or cage kicker bars to                form a cage around fuel cell for protection, bars can be no larger than 2" but not required.

 

Bumpers

 

            1. Must be stock car bumpers only.

            2. No reinforcing inside of bumpers.

            3. Must be bolted to frame.

            4. Bumper ends must be capped and welded to the body with small straps of metal no taller than the bumper. Safety chaining of bumpers is              recommended.

            5. If using plastic nose must use an O.E.M. bumper.

            6. May use a single nerf bar on top or bottom with no kickers, no wider than the frame rails and no taller than 10". No larger than 1 3/4" pipe.

 

Rear Ends

 

            1. Stock or 9" Ford rear end. Floaters allowed.

 

Brakes

 

            1. All four brakes must work. Must lock up on inspection.

            2. No aftermarket brake pedals allowed.

            3. No bias adjusters.

            4. Rear disk brakes allowed.

 

Shocks

 

            1. No coils over shocks.

            2. Must be in stock locations. May be racing shocks.

 

Springs

 

            1. Stock style in stock locations. May be racing springs.

 

Suspension

 

            1. Stock upper and lower A-Arms

            2. Stock rear end control arms.

 

Steering

 

            1. No quick steer allowed.

 

Drive Shafts

 

            1. Must be painted white. Must have at least one strap or chain under drive shaft.

 

Battery

 

            1. One automotive type battery.

            2. Securely fastened down and covered inside battery box.

            3. Not to be in trunk area.

 

Wheels and Tires

 

            1. Must use one inch lug nuts.

            2. Can use any racing wheels/rims. Bead locks allowed.

            3. Four ply radial passenger car tires or racing tires. Maximum 8" wheel and 10" tire.

            4. No mud tires.

            5. Protection around valve stem allowed.

 

Radiator

 

            1. Stock or O.E.M. aluminum allowed. Aluminum racing radiators allowed.

            2. Radiator must be in stock location.

 

Engine Stock GM-GM, Ford-Ford, Mopar-Mopar

 

            1. Cast iron factory head and blocks. No aluminum heads. No aftermarket heads.

            2. Flat top or dish pistons only.

            3. No roller rockers or roller tip rockers. No roller cams.

            4. Cast iron factory intakes or aftermarket  aluminum intakes.

            5. Aftermarket carbs allowed. Only a single carb.

            6. Headers allowed, but must exit under car.

            7. Engine must be in stock location.

            8. Engine must carry 15" of vacuum at 1,000 RPM's at any given time.

            9. If using electric fuel pump or fuel injection must have crash or roll over shut off valve.

           

Driver Protection

 

            1. Racing seat mandatory.

            2. Driving suits mandatory.

            3. Must have a 5 point harness and window net.

            4. No open face helmets.

            5. Must have neck roll.
